light pillars near Helvesiek, Germany
Picture No. 5 taken from Helvesiek on January 28, 1998. Time: 8:45 pm. Exposure: 60 seconds at f/2.8, using a 24 mm lens and a Fuji 800 film. A yellow-white column of light beams up from the southeastern horizon, casting an orange glow on the clouds. Probably a gas flame from a distant well-head (compare with the "colder" colour of the weaker reflection in the center of the picture).
