flame pillar
Second shot by Jeroen DE VLEESSCHAUWER taken immediately after the previous one. Note the five stars of the Big Dipper just on top of the reflection. Stars in flame reflection pictures are always a great help in establishing the azimuth and elevation of the pillars. While a correct azimuth may be helpful in identifying the light source that caused the reflection, the elevation is needed to calculate the altitude of the ice-crystal cloud.
